Greetings !
How can it be November already?! What a whirlwind this semester has been at TROY School! It feels like just yesterday we were welcoming students, and now we’re deep into a fun mix of academics and activities that keep our school community buzzing. We actually welcomed 17 new students to TROY this year and have dedicated the past nine weeks to familiarizing ourselves with each other and assisting them in integrating into our supportive school environment.
We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Whitko Career Academy this year with six students attending to learn vocational skills that will help them find opportunities in high-demand careers upon graduation. In fact, 2025 marks the first year we will graduate students who attended the career academy, and we eagerly anticipate seeing how their acquired skills and certifications will aid them in securing careers within our community.
Additionally, we are pleased to announce our new collaboration with Bowen Health, which will offer our students the invaluable resource of on-site mental health counseling during their time at TROY. This partnership underscores our unwavering commitment to prioritizing the mental well-being of our students, ensuring they have the support they need to thrive both academically and personally. By providing accessible counseling services, we are fostering a nurturing and supportive learning environment that empowers our students to navigate their individual journeys toward success.
After a refreshing fall break, we are pumped for the final weeks of our semester and committed to helping our students reach their full potential ! Look for an end of semester recap in December; hoping to share exciting news about our December grads !

STUDENTS G.R.O.W. AT TROY SCHOOL
Over the summer TROY School staff brought our hearts and minds together to create a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) which is an evidence-based intervention framework to provide academic AND behavioral strategies to students with varied backgrounds, needs, and capabilities. Together we developed G.R.O.W. to promote a safe, respectful, and challenging learning environment while maintaining our strong foundation of building positive relationships and valuing the diversity of our student population.
G.R.O.W. stands for Goal-Oriented, Reliable, Ownership, and Worth. As a team, we embody these traits by conducting teaching and learning activities in our student morning meetings, twice a week. Our aim is to instill these attributes in our students’ minds, hearts, and behaviors. So far this school year, we have dedicated two weeks to each letter and are now delving further into each aspect for the rest of the semester.
At TROY, we’ve implemented tier 1 of the 3-tier MTSS universal support system. This is crucial for the current year as it enhances our school culture by fostering student values and expectations, which are foundational for immediate and future success. As students grasp and embody these principles, they will experience the satisfaction of accomplishing their goals. Staff and students at TROY have both reported seeing positive results through the G.R.O.W. initiative ! We look forward to sharing more about this initiative with you in the coming months !
