Building strong relationships with families is an important part of the work we do at TROY. Throughout the school year, we host family engagement events designed to create opportunities for connection, conversation, and community.
Thanks to grant support from JDAI, 76 students and family members gathered for an evening of food and fun! Guests enjoyed a delicious meal provided by the local 1897 BBQ Food Truck before spending time together playing games, winning prizes, and sharing plenty of laughter.
While the games were certainly a hit, the true value of the evening was the opportunity it provided for families and staff to connect in a relaxed and casual setting. Away from the structure of the school day, conversations flowed more naturally, relationships were strengthened, and families had the chance to simply enjoy time together alongside the people who support their students every day.
Family Game Night is one of several family engagement events we host each year as part of our ongoing effort to build meaningful partnerships with the families we serve. These gatherings help foster trust, communication, and a sense of belonging that ultimately benefits our students both inside and outside the classroom.
